GARE EXPO FUN SINGING DAY FOR SINGERS OF ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE AND ABILITY
Jane Hillary and Marion Best will be running a Singing Workshop (for adults) on Sunday 18th October from 9.45 am to 4.30 pm (including short refreshment breaks).
The Maire of Lamalou-les-Bains has kindly allowed the Association to hold the workshop in the beautiful chapel of St Pierre de Rhèdes, not far from the old station. This chapel has a lovely, resonant acoustic.
The day will consist of three sessions, exploring very different styles of singing and enabling all participants to find their voice. If you already love singing or if you have never dared try, now is your chance! Non-members of the Association are welcome to come along. This workshop will be free and will finish with a concert open to everybody.
If you would like to participate or if you require further information, please send a text to Marion Best on 06 38 34 86 54 and leave your name and telephone number/email address or you may contact the Gare Expo Association by email.
Our four exhibitions in 2015 have continued to attract visitors owing to the quality and diversity of the works on show (felt sculptures, watercolours, drawings, sandstone sculptures, mixed lacquer etc.) The vernissages (60 to 80 people) remain as convivial and as animated as ever. We now open them to the public (curists, tourists, etc.) as well as the members of our association. Unfortunately, the September exhibition had to be shortened by two days at the last moment. We thank the artists involved, Anne Guerrin and Korin, for their understanding.
There will be a rehearsed play reading in English of Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring at 4 pm on Sunday 19th July in the Centre Ulysse. This will be followed by drinks in the foyer. We hope to see you there - everybody is welcome so feel free to bring guests.
Faith O'Reilly (co-founder of Gare Expo) will be holding an open day of her studio at the old gare in Lamalou from 10 until 6 pm.
Nicholas opened his exhibition with a private viewing on Saturday 13th June. There were many invited guests, and some new-comers to the Gare Expo. We'd like to welcome those new members who signed up during the evening.
An Evening with Alan Bennett. Centre Ulysse in Lamalou, Sunday 29th March, starting at 5.00pm. There will be short readings from plays, his diaries, newspaper articles, observational pieces. We all know his work and this is an opportunity to hear his words and to laugh, feel moved, inspired, be touched by the exquisite poignancy he can bring to many subjects. Above all, it will be fun!
Refreshements will be available.
This event is free, but it's only available to Gare Expo members. If you are not a member and want to join, please contact us.
